Looking for Alaska - John Green

I absolutely despised this book. I know by now that John Green isn't really an author for me, but god this one was just terrible. I honestly thought about DNF'ing after 30 pages, but I managed to get through. I didn't care for the plot and I hated the characters. Surprisingly, I used to be a teenager once upon a time (read: technically about 2 years ago oops) and I can tell you that NO ONE acts like the characters in this book do.

CAREFUL! SPOILERS AHEAD!

- I hated Miles. Don't ask why, I just did.
- The fact that he had to keep his mouth shut because he "didn't want to fight" with Chip about every other chapter is a perfect example of why that character sucked as well.
- Takumi was terrible at rapping, seriously, those verses were so very cringe!
- Alaska was probably supposed to be some sexy, mysterious, feminist girl, but she just irritated me to the point that I honestly didn't care when
. Not even kidding, I felt nothing. She's not being a feminist, she's just overly complaining about every tiny detail. Oh no *gasp* this woman is definitely being used and she just has to suffer in this cruel world, suppressed by the patriarchy! Like, no bitch, you're watching porn, what the hell you talking about?!  So predictable! Same with the plot just ending up being that
And then there are these few little plot points that are just so ridiculous. Like, what the F kind of parent would let their 7 y/o choose their own name? Lucky she came up with a fairly normal name like Alaska, I would probably have said princess Jasmine or something...
Did I already tell you that I hated this book? Well, yeah.... Seriously, don't read it, you'll regret it!
